Module 1 is the first module of the Year 12 syllabus. Students will begin to acquire essential skills for calculating and analysing patterns within sequences, this content becomes vital for understanding financial mathematics later in the syllabus and has implications for theoretical knowledge in understanding calculus.

Course Content

Outcomes: By the end of this module, you will be able to use the concept of sequences and series in a variety of contexts, namely; Understanding the properties of arithmetic and geometric progressions and their applications in problems, specifically related to adding sequences. Additionally, the concept of limiting sums and infinite decimals we be explored alongside their applications in problems. This will become particularly useful for understanding of Financial Mathematics.
